Topic Name: How could one start a career in public accounting
Message Name: Accounting degree without the job
Date Posted: 07/23/2004
Message: I graduated recently with an overall GPA of 2.9 and major GPA of 3.4, but I cannot secure job with a public accounting firm. My greatest concern is if I don't use the accounting knowledge I'll loose it. Since most firms recruit from college campuses for entry level positions, what type of chance do I have if I've never been selected during undergrad years? Where should I start or is it worth it considering my over GPA? What kind of strategy could I use? Someone please help!!!!
