I don't think that you should stress out so much about these evenings, the people who you meet are just normal people too - i have been to several in many different scenarios - when i was trying out for Deloites, PwC and EY, and when i was doing vacation and graduate recruiting on the other side, and i tend to think that i would just like it if people were fairly down to earth and didn't want to achieve the world.
In regards to your post, most people tend to give you their business card when they are comfortable with you or at the end of a conversation.
There are 2 sorts of 'meet the firm' or 'information nights', 1.where you have applied to the firm (on-line or written) and have provided a CV & application letter (or in the case of Big 4 - questionaire) then you will not need a CV 2. where it is an information night that was organised by a business association / club then you should. From what it sounds like i think you have already applied to the firm and this is the next step?
Graduate recruitment period was a very exciting time for most people, you go to a lot of info nights, interviews, group interviews etc and then you get offers and rejections, i was really excited when i was going through the whole recruitment processes of firms and was lucky enough to choose one of the firms i wanted to work for - because when you are in uni, all the Big 4 seem pretty much the same, and unless you work in a big 4 firm i think you probably will think they are the same...
hope this post helps

I really appreciate the information provided by akyrl and DCF. I will start to look for job this coming fall and I'd like to start my career in public accounting field. I hope that I will come back to share my success job-hunting experiences when I get the job offer from big 4 accounting firms.
