hello all
I am a senior student with an offer from PwC tax department(not in the US). I plan to apply for tier-1 law school after a couple of years work and engage in tax law. I hope this career experience would be a boost for my application.
however my friend in the States told me that PwC is a 2-tier company and only lame students go there?
It's a big shock to me. I know it is famous but is the case true? will this constitute a hinder not a boost for my application?

I think your friend is quite ill-informed. Tier 2 in what field? Certainly not accounting.
Lame students would have difficulty getting into PwC, on academic merits. Their entrance standards are pretty high.
