Hey seamogh,
I am graduating with my MBA in June. I am still trying to land a job, and keeping my fingers crossed.
Do you think if passing CPA exam will help for my job-searching prospect?
What's the expected salary range for entry-level positions in public accounting firm?
I was told with my background: No prior accounting-related work experience, MBA in accounting. It is probably in the range of $30-35K.
Is this realistic?
I am in the Mid-Altantic states.
Thanks!!! |

Passing the CPA exam will help your prospects, but I wouldn't want to invest in all that time, money and effort unless i knew i was definitely going into public accounting. Instead i would advise informing public accounting firms that you wish to interview and work for that you have the credits to sit for and are prepared to take the CPA.
In terms of starting salary, i'm not familiar with pay for the midatlantic but 30-35k sounds low especially for an advanced degree.
