Hi
I am currently am holding a BSc in Accounting & Finance from LSE, a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA)& a CPA member.
However, If I would like to work in the States someday, is it necessary for me to be a member of the AICPA in order to practise in the States?
Do I have to take certain professional exams to qualify for membership in the AICPA or do I have to put in 150 hours to retake the CPA exams again?
Thank you for clarifying my doubts.

Hi:
I'm a Canadian CA and am taking a reciprocity exam in November which allows you to get your letters without the hours. Some states may require additional work if you want to to audits at a firm.
Do you want to be in public practice - ie a firm - or in industry?
Anyway the company I'm taking a prep course through has a site for Canadian CA's.
www.ias.to
Call your local CA Institute or contact the AICPA. I'm sure their must be some sort of reciprocity agreement. I know they have one with the Aussies.
