Since people usually share a car, I would think that for the most part, having access to it is going to be slightly difficult.
With that being said, in terms of standard of life, are we just talking about:
[1]getup --> work at client site --> back to hotel;
[2] Repeat [1] until Thursday night.
Could you shed some light on how one manages such monotony ?
How do you manage to maintain your relationships back home?
How do you partake in social life in the city of the client - eg., I want to join a guitar class on Wednesday's?
Are all of the above a faint dream or some bizzare imagination that can never materialize in this job?
I am trying to make up a tough decision and so ANY and ALL help is requested ....THANKS

Yes, that characterizes lots of consulting with the exception of some "mandatory fun" about once a month. Usually it is get up - work - hotel/gym - bed.

The money makes up for lots of BS! Also, consulting work is usually fast-paced and it never ceases to amaze me how fast the week will "fly by" before you know it. It really isn't too bad, the routine.

Bloody near impossible. You best have a strong spouse/partner/husband/wife. My wife cried her eyes out for the first year. I would come home late at night and she wouldn't talk to me she was so sore at me being gone. Then she got used to it. Now when I'm home on the beach, like now, she says I cramp her style! That is the biggest drawback to the consulting lifestyle. I have met very, very few long-term consultants who have not been divorced. I stress "long-term." As far as being a parent, forget it. Ever wonder why family insurance rates are so cheap at ACN? Because it is very hard to have two working spouses unless kids are older...

You can join anything you want. But if there is a client deadline I"d love to hear you say "oops have to run - its guitar night." You pretty much have time to work out and that's it. YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT COUNT ON BEING A MEMBER OF ANYTHING REGULAR ASIDE FROM WORK. You are paid what you are paid to sacrifice some aspect of your life. In this case, it is your personal life. When I'm home on the bench it feels strange to be able to meet people on a Tuesday night for a drink! I'm never home during the week. It is a fact of the job.

Practically never. Monday - Thursday, ACN will own you. Get used to it or be miserable. There are always exceptions but they are rare. I speak only from my 8 years of experience.
