I didn't think Accenture have a senior consultant level in the consulting group...I thought it was all grouped into one under the title of Consultant....are you sure you were interviewing with the consulting group and not another area of Accenture?

"Senior consultant" is not really an official term (yes, they are just another person at the "consultant" level), but people do use this term a lot, usually to refer to someone who has been at the consultant level for a few years and is up for promotion.
Same thing goes for people who sometimes call themselves a "senior analyst".
