In Reply To: Vision of ATS was to have a low-cost alternative for contractors and it still remains the same. May be it has gotten worst in many cases due to improving job market and ATS leadership who are made up of rejects from Consulting/Services.
Message: ATS staff are not "rejects" from IT "consulting" or IT "services." Their skills are the same (at least the same as "consulting" -- "services" staff are, on average, older and more experienced than the kids in IT "consulting"). It's just a matter of falling into the wrong place during the recent job recession. The managers in ATS, however, probably ARE rejects from Accenture, proper. That's saying a lot since the "managers" on the IT "consulting" side are not exactly experienced, professional IT managers, themselves. The bottom line is, the job market has improved. You can leave ATS and find a better, and much higher paying job elsewhere. There's no need to settle so there's no need to think of going only half-way out and applying to Accenture, proper. There's a lot of good jobs at much more prestigious companies where the typical work week is only 40 - 45 hours a week.
