Message: 1. is the work very complex. It's IT development and implementation work. Requirements gathering, application specification writing, computer programming, database modeling, testing, documentation, software installation, etc. 2. how do you feel about travel perks. You get "per-diems" when you are on the road, which can add up to $100 - $170 a week, tax free. Also, you save $$ since you have no daily commuting expenses. Living in a hotel only 10 min. from the client is good since the work hours are so very, very long. 3. Is the new job also consulting. I'm not sur if I understand your question. Unless you are in the business consulting group (which is, at best, 5% of the company), you won't be doing actual "consulting." We just call it IT "consulting" because we are outsiders -- not employess of the client but, rather, temporary IT workers. 4. did you try getting into other big4 consultancies. If you want to join BE, for example, you would need more experience that if you wanted to join ACN. BE generally hires experienced people. Also, their IT "consulting" is a bit more business oriented. 5. how about the training possibilities. In general, ACN does not offer any training. Sometimes you can get a CBT CD that you can use back in the hotel room to study some topics. Occassionally, they have free, one-day, vendor demos back at the home office on Fridays. 6. peer mentoring or technical collaboration aspects. Mentoring happens, but it is limited in the sense that everyone is so young around here. Even the "senior" managers are very young, so there are limited opportunities to be mentored by anyone with much real world experience. That's one of the unavoidable downsides of this place. Ironically, if you are one of the rare folks in their late 30s who joins ACN, you will be "mentored" by someone who, maybe, 26 or 27. It's almost a joke.
