In Reply To: There is a serious lack of respect for the Services workforce within Accenture. Yes, Services does a lot of work for the company, but you will be treaded like a nobody. And if you ever interact with anyone from Consulting, they will assume you are an idiot who couldn't get a job anywhere else. I would never consider an offer to join Services.
Message: There is still a very clear pecking order on most mixed workforce projects, Solutions and Services resources considered somewhat 'less' than their consulting counterparts, primarily by more junior consulting ranks. For example Level E is supposedly equivalent to a consulting analyst A2, but don't be surprised to find many of them working for 'fresh from uni' A1s. As an A2, I had a level D recource (C1 equiv.) working for me. As you said in the original post, you have researched the options, and find that Services suits you, and the simple truth is that consulting is not for everybody -if you want paid overtime, limited travel, and a more traditional employment structure, then Services is probably close to ideal. I know a number of people who have moved to Services from Consulting, and are now much happier. Good luck whatever you decide.
