Whether you take the job is up to you. But here is what you need to know about Services.
There are four areas: BPO, Client-operation, Delivery centers, and Project-based engagements.
BPO is when you support an entire chunk of a corporation such as accouting, payroll, finance, call center, etc.
Client-operation folks do the same work as those in Consulting (not always, but most of the times), but over an extended period . Think of it this way, Consulting creates solution, Services sustains them (sometimes they do both). These projects are multi-year. There is room for promotion if the contract can support it and it here is a place to fill (these are position based). And unlike Consulting, there is no up-or-out policy.
Project-based Services roles are shorter-term roles; these last 9-12 months. They do the same work as Consulting. Perhaps this was created to be price competitive.
Delivery centers, from my experience, are offshore office where coding and project management work take place. Many are located in Eastern Europe, India, and the Phillippines.
I have never been disrespected by Consulting folks (at least not to my face) nor talked down to (and many in Services transferred from Consulting anyway).
ATS is a subsidiary of Accenture. That is referred to as the Solutions workforce.
Hope this helps.
