In Reply To: You ask about the value prop in work versus pay an ACN? ACN does not (and probably never will) pay significantly above market for your skills. This frustrates people because they can leave and go to a client or competitor perhaps in a lateral move and make more money (today). We all complain about it because, let's face it, at times our jobs are a major hassle. If it was easy, our clients wouldn't hire Accenture, they would do it themselves. However, the value prop for our people is to move up the ladder faster. Generally this is twice as fast as you could move at one of our clients. For example, if you were to start with ACN out of school, by your late twenties, you may have client counterparts (e.g., Director level) in their mid 30's. If you were to make Senior Exec in 12 years or so, you are probably interacting on a regular basis with SVPs and CIOs in their 40's and 50's. The opportunity is use your brain at a higher level and to get there faster, not to be paid more at each step along the way. Talk to people who have left Accenture at any level and see if their career path has been anywhere near as fast. I guarantee you that in general, it isn't. If this is part of what makes you tick, consider Accenture.
