In Reply To: I have 2 offers that I need some advice on. Not really sure which industry will be better working conditions/lifestyle.
UBS - iBank & ACN - IT consulting
1- UBS ISD Associate for wealth mgmnt (2 yr program $54k base salary, $6k sign on bonus) for NJ area
2- ACN Consultant analyst for NY/NJ area (2 year as analyst > IT consultant $56K base salary, $1K bonus) - up to 100% travel Not really sure which one to choose as the career path for each is quite different from each other. I will graduating this May and need to make a decision fast.
Any advice or comments on this? Which would be a more valuable experience, rather which will add value to my salary in the coming years?
Message: You take the job that corresponds with what kind of work and career you'd like to go into. If you like IT integration and business computer application development, the go with an IT services place like ACN (or EDS or CSI or SAP). If you want to go into financial services and business / management work, go for the UBS job (or go for Citicorp or Merrill Lynch or Lehman Brothers).
