Proper method to inform HR that I want to renege? |

I have been given the opportunity to work somewhere else which I would have definetly choosen over ACN.
Is it too late for me to change because like a poster said before: "accepting the Accenture offer represented a commitment"
I want to settle this as soon as possible so that ACN can hire another person or whatever. What is the proper way to inform HR that I want to renig on my offer and could they hold me legally liable for doing so?
