Interesting.. Considering the amount of business/liberal arts edcuated analysts Accenture hires, it is surprising that they all, according to you, will stay in IT. |

It's not a matter of liberal arts college kids not being able to transition out of IT into other fields. It's a matter of these liberal arts majors CHOOSING to go into IT. By joining a company, such as ACN, whose product line is IT services and technical support, they have chosen to go into IT implementation work as their livlihood. If a career in IT is not what they want, then they shouldn't be pursuing IT jobs in the first place.
It's like someone who studied the hard sciences as an undergrad, but then went on to law school and later joined the corporate counsel's office at a large bank. The bank may have a small, health clinic (as many large corporations have). Why should the law school grad wonder why they won't let him "transition" into a job as a physician in the clinic? After all, he was a biology and chemistry major in college.
