I have a skills interview coming up. What does it entail? Is it case based? or just talking about my skills experience? |

I had a skills based interview for a consulting position. It is not case based at all.
My interview was on the phone with a manager with a long technical background. I was asked to provide specific experiences I had regarding coding and testing modules. What methodologies were used, how were problems anticipated, were they successfully avoided, what were outcomes? Discuss a time when i had to design or reengineer a process. How did I go about doing so, what were the results, was this design or reengineering and why? Those types of questions...
I did not have a coding background so I was able to use other analagous experiences. However, if this is the case, you have to be clear to draw the parallels. Do not expect the interviewer to take your answer and figure out how it applies to their questions. Be very specific.
