In Reply To: evermind, I am interviewing with ACN. I had 36 months of NonBig4 PM experience. I want to know the life in ACN. At this time I am not sure about my M#. Whats your experience in 8months and how to network internally when you are new?
Message: You can define a particular experience and call it relative to the whole firm. Basically where you go on a project will define the culture. If you got a well experienced project that has been going on for many years and have everything defined, then you might be able to get on a good role, with a good mix of experienced and new hires. But that does not guarantee anything. You could be an experienced hire and get schooled by a 25 yr old Manager who bosses a 35 yr old consultant/level D-E employee. It all depends. As for networking internally, it all depends again. If you are an experienced hire, they already have you in mind for a particular project, based on a skillset that is in demand. You really don't need to network to get onto a project. If you are a brand new hire out of college, then you a bit more flexibility because you are a clean slate.
