In Reply To: managers and team leads younger than you. I'm also an experienced hire(10yrs IT/defense), and my salary is excellent! As long as you can grit your teeth and deal with leadership or peers that are 10 years your junior, I say go for it. It has been and still is a big adjustment for me. First, be mindful that the social politics play a big role in how you move up the ladder. Second, be sure to learn the ACN business model, it will be key as an experienced consultant. Third, try and develope a relationship with a partners that have age on them and those that did not start out with accenture, they have been lifesavors for me.
Message: The Firm kicks you in the nuts with Level but DOES pay you according to your 'true' market worth. Just be VERY careful after your first year. That is usually the wake up call for Exp. Hires . You are then told you are in Zone 4, and no matter how well you do, your increase will be minimal, and if you REALLY up there, if you don't make it to the next level... Buh-Bye. Again, the life expectancy of an Exp. Hire is 18-24 months. This is one of main reasons why. Take Care.
