That may have been true at Andersen Consulting, where promotions were based only on how many months you were at level. (OK, the bottom 20% usually saw their promotions delayed by 6 - 12 months, sort of like getting left back a grade in Elementary School -- but they eventually got promoted too. The very bottom 5% would get counseled out). Basically you either left or you got promoted. It was an out or up philosophy. If you didn't leave, you'd get promoted.
But Accenture doesn't work that way.
Also, if it takes you 10 years to get a $120 or $130K salary in IT, you are doing something wrong. |

Most ppl I know are making 120-130K in 4-5 years experience.
