Long hours. Not necessarily because you are working hard but because there is a huge culture of face-time at Accenture.
Type of work will depend on the project. If you want exciting work, join the military and fly F-16s. It should be interesting enough.
Expect really dense management - they talk a good game but are clueless.
Expect good raises. Try working in "industry" and you learn even a crappy consultant raise beats 2% in industry.
Consulting is an interesting career as far as business careers go. And a lot will depend on your particular project. I think the culture at ACN is terrible but the pay is really good. So find what floats your boat and just deal. |

Yes, and it's also true that a even a crappy raise in the real world beats a 2% raise in an IT consultant job. I've worked in both and I'm aware of what kinds of raises people are getting in jobs outside of IT consulting. They're about the same as in IT consulting, unless you are an entry level hire, in which case, if you come in low (into Zone 1), you will get a higher than usual raise in order to bring you up to your same title/level peers.
