In Reply To: Star performers and potential industry executives (in the dictionary sense of the word, not the ACN jargon sense) tend to leave ACN pretty quick and either go into industry or start successful businesses. But not everyone who leaves ACN does this. I'm just talking about the stars among the fast leavers. I guess that makes sense.
Message: Some of the founders of Adjoined Consulting were originally with Andersen Consulting. While AC really wasn't the same thing as ACN is today, it's technically more or less the same owners, so you could say that they were with the previous incarnation of the present company, Accenture. According to comments made at recent Adjoined/Kanbay merger PR events, the feel that ACN has the wrong approach to the integration of offshoring with client-facing IT planning and analysis. The company is, obviously, very successful, so they probably know what they are doing. Their company was created right before the dotCOM bust, yet has been very successful. Most of the revenue has been organically grown (i.e., not a lot of venture capital). They went from 250 people at the end of 2004 to 500 in 2005 to 5,800 today. So that's an example of people who left ACN to start their own business.
