In Reply To: I told my CC about my concern also told the Manager. I am not sure they were very understanding. I was hoping the manager would speak up and say something like "you can leave wednesday late night every other week, and leave thrusday late night every other week". But she did not say nothing. I guess I can look for couple of more weeks to see if something comes up, if nothing comes up, I can still take it if I want it. I wish I was a Sr. Mgr, because if I was and if I was making 150-160K, I would take the project without whining. Someone was telling me to just say the project does not fit me, the role is bad for my career, but I thougth about and said it is best to be truthful and give them both reasons that project is not 100% fitting and the 10 hour one way travel. This could burn me for being truthful, but we will see. It is not going to take me more than 3-4 weeks to find a six figure job anyways. Any other suggestions, please provide. thanks again.
Message: it doesn't look good. I knew a senior manager, an experienced hire, who joined the firm and absolutely hated it. This person, after rolling off of one project, made a habit of saying "it just doesn't fit." Actually made it with the firm for a year before they wised up! But I digress... But saying it is travel versus not a good fit does not make a huge difference. BTW, even at 150k the travel still stinks. Stick by your guns but be ready to live with the consequences if you are not staffed soon. They probably already have you "earmarked" in their minds...
