In Reply To: thanks a lot for the reply. It really helps put things into perspective. I see your point - I'm actually very good at my job (rated consistently in the top 10% of the company at my current job) and the reason I'm leaving is b/c I'm not getting the raises that I deserve for doing such good work. This 95,000 is more than I am currently making (87,000). Can managers be technical though? Can an M1 do sap/oracle work or does that technical work always have to be done by a C level?
Message: I was just on an SAP project although I knew nothing about SAP. I was one of two leads on the FICO team. The other guy knew all about how SAP works and could configure like mad, however like 90% of the SAP/ERP folks, they don't speak english or have really poor communication skills. So, if you can communicate and I'm not talking about those techno guys that think they can communicate, but you know how to walk the walk and talk the talk in a C-level steering committee meeting you should ask to me a M level. Seriously, do you think a sterring committee member wants to know what a RICE object is? All they want to know is will they be able to close on time.
