Let's do some math...
Accoding to current rates, it seems that 1 GBP = 1.75034 USD
So lets take that rate, and look at the exhange rates of your quoted UK salaries...
Year 1 - ??28.5k = $49.9k
Year 2 - ??32.5k = $56.9k
Year 3 - ??42.5k = $74.4k
I am from a moderately expensive US city, but not NYC or SF. Talking to some of the new analysts here, the average salary they are getting offered is 45K, I haven't heard any above 47k. So that initial number is a little high in comparison. Now, I myself have been here three years, I am a consultant, and I have had good reviews every year, but I am not making more than the second year conversion quoted above! I am a third year, and via that conversion above, I should be making about 20k more, but I certainly am not! Your first year assumption is a little high, but your third year assumption is way off. |

You havent heard of an analyst getting more than 47K? I am getting 54K along with a few others for the same office. I also know of a few others analysts receiving 55K and 57K. I'm not sure if 45K is exactly the norm.
