In Reply To: Dude, what are you doing working for accenture as an M1 this late in your career. You'll be working with M1s with one-third of your experience. You should be getting atleast a senior manager title unless you were a code monkey for the last 14 years.
Message: ACN gives very little credit for non-ACN experience. I know some experienced project managers with years of PM experience, who are in their late 30s who came in at the sr consultant level. Their pay was thru the roof since, even with the paycut (which is made up if you work over 120 hours each pay period and get your 3 or 4 hours OT), their previous pay, as a real manager was in the 110 to 125K range. ACN told them that Sr. Cons was more senior than it really is. They were told that they need to be at the Sr cons for 6 months to "ramp up." Then they found out about the 18 month obstacle (it takes 18 months minimum to get promoted due to promotion cycles and the funny June - May assessment period for Sept promos). They also found themselves thrown into the analyst/consultant pool rather than the junior manager(M1+)/manager (M4+) pool. They were "mentored" by 26 year old kids. If you are over 30, reconsider coming to ACN. If you are over 38, it's better to stick out your current job (no matter how bad) or stick out unemployment for a few more weeks, then come here. That's just the way it is at ACN.
