Doesn't really matter if you based in NY and you have to go to Charlotte, NC for a project. Normally, they want to staff you within your homebase and within HLS, but if HLS work is elsewhere, you can get sent there for a project. But you can fly home every week.
As for advancement, if you come in as experienced analyst, then you will need 1 yr to get promoted. But, you need to let your project know that, otherwise, you might as well be a first year analyst. But advancement is just like any other company. do a good job and the rest will take care of itself.
As for your work in healthcare IT and a MS in CS, then you should be fine. The technology aspect of the work, will not be daunting. It can be for some who have business and non tech degrees. That is not to say that you will be necessarily be doing tech work, but to the other post, who says that they don't want to be staffed on an IT project, then you are in the wrong place.
Every project, (well..90%)is IT based. Every product we produced is something technolgy driven. You may be doing business process, or design, or development, or testing, or deployment. But the end result is a new product to improve performance of Company XYZ. People keep fooling themselves that this is something else.
sammy_boy, you seem like you understand what you are getting into. You have tech skills and possibly some management skills. You can develop either one or both within the firm. Just depends on how far you want to go.
as for other post,after yours, if you don't want to be doing anything 'IT' then you need to look harder at the firm and not just look at the website. |

Hey qpzm9876, Thank You so much for your insight. You've given some practical info and advice that we all can use. Reading your posts further confirms that ACC HLS could be an excellent fit for me.
