In Reply To: Assuming you stay in the US, less than a month. Just ask your CC if it's okay. If he agrees, it's pretty much a done deal. My only suggestion is make sure you have a reason besides "just feeling like it". You have to go at the first of the month. Something else to be careful of - check the cost of living. If you move from, say, Colorado to NY, you're going to be really underpaid until September rolls around and they can adjust you. Moving from NY to CO, and you'll be a king for a year.
Message: It took me about 6 months to transfer from Resources/Charlotte to Government/DC. Most of that was the market unit switch I'm pretty sure. Just wanted to make sure that you take that into account when considering transferring. Transferring just offices probably isn't that difficult (I'm considering it now, but haven't figured out the logistics yet), but switching market units as well as offices can be somewhat slow, depending on the circumstances.
