In Reply To: Accenture is mainly IT consulting/outsourcing, but I'm sure you know that they provide services beyond that. There are a few business fields or industry sectors that I'd like some exposure to (not limited to one particular thing, but still want to test the waters for the few I'm interested in). Don't think I'm asking for much, to be placed on a project that I'd be able to bring more to the table. I'm more than willing to be a team player on a short-term project(few months). But I've heard horror stories of people starting at Accenture and being placed on >2-year projects not even remotely related to their degree or past work experience. This sounds very impractical to me. Tell me this is a rare case?
Message: While there are a lot of projects that are long-term, I wouldn't worry about being on somethign long and not being able to get out. I see them as a good thing. Long projects give you the stability if you want it and often have a variety of roles. However, if you do want to leave, you can once you've successfully completed your role (which at the analyst level won't take much longer than a few months). People definitely come and go
