If you are joining ACN and that means doing something you're not interested in for the long-term, then why are you even starting here at all? Are you continuing to interview elsewhere? |

It sounds like you are asking Accenture to decide for you which industry you will be working on in your career, during the years ahead.
If you want to work in a certain industry, why didn't you apply for a job at one of the companies in that industry? If you want to work in communications or high tech, why didn't you apply for a job at a place like SONY or HBO or Verizon? If you want to work in retail, why didn't you look into Consolidated Department Stores or Toy R Us? Financial services industry? Why not Citigroup, Lehman Brothers Lincoln Insurance?
In a way, by coming to ACN, you have decided on ACN's industry, which is computer services and IT outsourcing. Is that the industry you want to work for? I think you need to re-evaluate your job choice and start thinking in terms of what you want to do for a living in the long-term and which employers are in the industry space you are interested in.
