In Reply To: The higher you get the more you may find yourself in situations where you work for several clients (and partners) concurrently. Plus you have prospective clients, meet with them and work on proposals. And you may have some responsibility for an internal project on the side. All of them think they own you exclusively ... resulting in major overtime. But that is where the fun really is - you don't even think of your option to say "No" because it actually is quite a ride being able to juggle several levels of involvement and parallel responsibilities. I've never seen somebody at my former level or up who complained about the usual "Excellent steering committee meeting! Let's meet back at the office at 10 pm and plan how we work that into that new proposal, then we'll have the conference call with the overseas guys at 11:30 and can finalize the estimate afterwards - oh, I've just received that RFP here, can you review it and give me your take on what we can do with them tomorrow morning at 9:00 so we can work it into the presentation for the OG head at 10?"
Message: oh boy, that's what i gotta look forward to..if i continue my career in consulting.
