I need advice with an incident that occurred this morning. While backing out of a parking lot I accidentally hit an illegally parked car causing a dent. My AVIS rental is insured under the corporate agreement and through my American Express card. I did not leave any contact information on the other car. If reported, will the damages to the other car be covered by my insurance? Does anyone know the proper procedure I should follow to submit a claim? How will I be affected by this incident? |

This type of situation is exactly what insurance is for! Accidents happen (hence why they call them that), you shouldn??t try to run away from them. I??m sure you??ll be fine, and most likely will not be caught. If you are the worst thing that would most likely happen in the US is a ticket.
However you really should have left a note, how would you feel if someone did that to your car (and I don??t mean your rental)? Either you have a problem with your decision making skills (meaning you probably work in HR) or have severe ethics issues (which would make you a Partner or part of Legal & Commercial). Regardless you should probably not do that again.
