Message: Hi there, I am currently studying for an MBA while on leave of absence from Accenture. I did not get any financial support, but got a recomendation letter from the CMD. I think it depends on a couple of factors. First is how much they care about you staying with Accenture, and second is how well can you convince them you intend to come back post-MBA. I did just that, and got their support. Still, I also got the warning "you'll come back to the exact same level and salary" and the "an MBA won't make you grow any faster in Accenture". Working for Accenture and the CMD recomendation were positive things in my application, but a high GMAT and successful interview were definitely more important. I would recommend you talk to the person you want the recomendation letter from, get his buy-in and then use that as a leverage in negotiating with other decision makers. Just FYI, I work for ACN in Europe and am studying in a UK MBA (1yr), so things may be slightly different in the states with 2yr MBA programmes... Best of luck!
