I have a dilemma. I verbally accepted a post with Accenture. They faxed me letter late last week and are supposed to send me physical mail this week (I guess I will get it tomorrow or Wednesday). Start date of 20th.
I have been extended an interview with another firm (midsize speciality consulting firm) on Friday. It is way way better money (about 35% more). Part of me wants to not schedule the interview, but I think I should interview and see what the opportunity is.
If the interview goes well, and if I get extended an offer and decide to take it, could that backfire on me for rejecting the offer with Accenture after accepting it? I would of course, reject it before starting. Would they not consider me for future opportunities with Accenture?
Thanks for honest feedback in advance. |

Notice on your offer letter it states "at will", meaning either you or Accenture can terminate the contract at anytime for any reason.
Just remember it's not personal, it's strictly business. They can't fault you for looking after yourself.
