In Reply To: Do they actually verify examples you used in the interview process? For example if you lead a team during your last job, would they actually verify the example? Or do they just verify you don't have a criminal record, your title, places and dates of employement? Just asking so I know who to use as a reference.
Message: is fair game. If you list a reference as former co-worker, they can very well ask if you led them on a team, etc. Being honest can't hurt. That said, HR is usually just looking to find out if you are a somewhat normal person, etc. Don't sweat it...unless you are coming in at a very senior, experienced level, no one really believes what you write on your resume anyway. So long as you talk a good game and can learn quickly, you will fit in just fine.
