Just so you know - IMO - Accenture travel is easy compared to some of the stuff I've done in the past.
It's easy - fly out early Monday - arrive at the client site by about 9:30 - leave around 6:30ish - go home eat/work out/ keep working - go to bed around midnight.
Be back at work around 8:00 on Tuesday/Wednesay - Leave around 6:30 ish.
And on Thursday work from 8 to 4 and fly home.
The truth is that by the time you get to the client site - you're almost done. I swear the end of the week sneaks up on me every week.
But there is a downside - Mondays are a doozie. By the time you get to work - you've already been up for 5-6 hours.
But anyway - even 100% travel isn't that bad (except for Mon-Friday gigs) |

I've been here less than two years, so maybe I just haven't seen the "lite" assignment yet. But I've never had the short hours that you describe in your post. For one thing, we NEVER leave before 7 PM. Usually it's more like 8 PM. Even after I go back to the hotel or motel, there's often an email after 9 PM with something from my manager asking me to get something done before he gets in at 8 AM the next morning.
Some weeks we work M-Thu with a couple hours to do at home on Friday, or a conference call Friday morning or early afternoon that I can take from my house (or from the home office, if I decide to come in). Some Fridays there are community meetings or "lunch withe the vendor" demos that, while sometimes not required, do get you brownie points if you attend. Other weeks we work M-F at the client, but can leave the client at 3:30 or 3:45 to catch a 6 PM flight.
From what you described, it sounds like you have 38 hour weeks or something. I've never worked less than a 45 hour week, and the 45 hours weeks are rare. 50 is more like it (with no OT for the extra 10 hours, of course). If I add the hours on Monday, getting up 2 hours before the sun comes up and traveling 5 hours or more in a taxi, plane and taxi again (and taxi back to the airport on Thu to catch a 7:30 flight that doesn't get me home until 11 PM at night), it MUCH more than a 50 hour week.
How can I get on a gig like yours?!?
