If you are from NY / SF or have some sort of East Coast /West Coast bias, then you will not like Columbus.
In fact, you will not like any other cities, because you will always compare Columbus to the old scene.
BUT, if you are willing to have an open mind and accept the fact, that the world doesn't revolve around NY or SF or something like that, then you will be fine.....

If you are prefer isolating yourself in a city where everyone is the same, everyone goes to the mall on the weekends, everybody loves jesus, and there is not a democrat in sight, you will be fine in Columbus. Everybody is really nice but...
If prefer a large, populated, diverse city with tons of different people, cultures, activities, and experiences then you will not be pleased anywhere between the coasts except Chicago.
There are some pretty neighborhoods in Columbus, but stay there for a weekend first.
