When hired in as a "new analyst", whether you just got our of college or you have work experience that isn't considered "relevent" you will not be up for promotion to consultant for 18-24 months (beginning from when you start to the next September).
If you're experience is counted, then you could be up for promotion sooner. So if you are given credit for a year's experience, you could be promoted to consultant in a year.
Also, your salary will vary based on office location, major/degree, and school. Also you may start at the higher end of the range if you are given credit for alternative work experience.
Maybe the norm is 50-60K - I started at MUCH less...maybe just me. |

I started last year at 46k with a 2k signing bonus and 2k moving expenses. I know a lot of people who did not get either bonus and started below 50k. I am a management major and female (which does seem to matter, though it definately should not).
I don't think the norm is 50-55k, more like 45-53k with only male engineers at the top.
