I'll pardon you the Americanism!
Starting salary for a graduate in the UK is ??28,500, plus a ??10,000 signing bonus. No car, though with UK taxes that's probably a blessing.
You should expect to reach C1 within roughly 3 years. C1's generally make in the region of ??38k-??42k, or thereabouts.
Even adjusting for living costs, it looks like you've been substantially lowballed. However, making a C1 grade after just 2 years is indeed quite an achievement. Perhaps Italian salaries are considerably lower than UK salaries.
Incidentally, I'll be joining the edinburgh office as an A1 early next year. Net take-home pay in year one is around ??27k (including some of the bonus). |

what is the percentage of tax in the UK?
say...
gross ??32k = net?
gross ??38k = net?
gross ??42k = net?
what are the benefits?
benefits of C1/2/3 in Italy are:
phone
PC (a benefit??? pah)
car (this one: http://www.lanciamusa.it)
company scheme variable pay (or whatever it's called)
25 days paid holiday
"job stability".. i.e. you can't be fired - although frankly i couldn't care less about it as i'm conscious of being an exceptional worker.
still so gutted I was lowballed.
Still hoping someone from italy will tell me the salary for C1 in Italy indeed is what I will be getting and has no range.
