I'll pardon you the Americanism!
Starting salary for a graduate in the UK is ??28,500, plus a ??10,000 signing bonus. No car, though with UK taxes that's probably a blessing.
You should expect to reach C1 within roughly 3 years. C1's generally make in the region of ??38k-??42k, or thereabouts.
Even adjusting for living costs, it looks like you've been substantially lowballed. However, making a C1 grade after just 2 years is indeed quite an achievement. Perhaps Italian salaries are considerably lower than UK salaries.
Incidentally, I'll be joining the edinburgh office as an A1 early next year. Net take-home pay in year one is around ??27k (including some of the bonus). |

this is still quite dissapointing. I'm quite annoyed at myself for not negotiating.
the 10k signing bonus in the UK is related to the fact that you have to pay back your uni loans, which usually are about that amount.
having said this my singing bonus of EUR 2k (gross) still sounds rather low.
italian universities are free. i went to edinburgh but didn't pay fees because of EU (it did cost me an arm and a leg in living expenses though).
the bastards ;)
oh well, I can always try to transfer to the UK offices in a few years' time. although i don't see why ACN would want to do that (then again i speak fluent english, french, italian and arabic and GCSE A* in spanish which not many of you brits can boast ;)).
don't know what to say - it's always crap when you feel lowballed (needless to say i'm an exceptional worker).
what attracted me was the track to getting promoted to Mgr in 3 years from now (salary EUR 55k gross).
anyone from ACN italy?
