In Reply To: What is the internal perception of F&PM in the US? Is it a joke (I've seen other postings showing that some groups have less "juice" than others). I have an offer and wanted to know. Thanks,
Message: In terms of putting F&PM in context it's worth knowing that it is one of 5 cross-industry service lines at Accenture (the others being Strategy, Human Performance, Supply Chain, Customer Relationship Management). Each of these groups is held in relatively high regard within the organisation if only because of the fact that these groups do a significant proportion of 'high value' (read: business) consulting work. Presuming that you're an experienced hire and come from a finance / accounting background you should find F&PM a relatively good fit. If, on the other hand, you're seeking exposure to a broader range of business functions (i.e. marketing, supply chain, etc) then joining an operating group may be a better idea.
