If you are being selected for the Reston office they most likely want you for the Government group, which means a career in DC unless you can move over into another unit. If you are valuable to a government project you may have a hard getting away whether you like it or not.
I would look at other IT consulting firms like IBM, Bearing Point, Deloite, or Booz Allen. You also want to try to negotiate operating groups and volunteer for 100% travel - if you travel you can typically choose to live where ever you want. |

Reston is just under half government projects. C&HT is another very large group. Financial Services has some work w/ Fannie and Freddie. Energy and Products are small there.
Just b/c you get a Reston offer does not mean you're headed to government work.
