Yes, your salary is good for a starting out analyst, BUT for the people complaining that their salary is too low, you have to take some things into consideration.
First, there is a higher cost of living in DC, and that office is always going to be dishing out higher salaries. 50 in DC is like 40 out in midwest, or even less. Like living in NY, or SF, you are paying for the privilege of living there.
Second, depending on where this guy went to school, if he/she went to top 15 school, then that will always trump other people salaries. If this guy went to harvard, then of course he will be getting paid more.
Third, I have found that people who start out with a high salary, tend to get lower % raises compared to others who started out low. In the end everyone's salaries level out.
