You may do a lot of testing and later, after a year of experience, some business analysis (writing high level requirements for the I.T. projects). But, overall, you will learn I.T. on the job. We have a pretty well formulated methodology. It's sort of like working on autopilot, so you can get along. You can learn I.T. here then, after a couple of years, get a good programming or I.T. business analyst or tech support job at a lot of companies that need those skills.
There are a lot of non-IT majors coming here out of collge: English, Finance, History, Mathematics, Economics, Sociology. Don't sweat it. |

Yes, this is true. While no one at Accenture is holding their breath waiting for the company to start offering training, you can, as you said, learn on the job.
Ironically, most of the training is done at the client, by the client and on the client's nickel. Not necessarily formal training but on-the-job learning from working with the client's professional staff and, in some cases, working with other Accenture co-workers who have, themselves, learned on the job at other clients.
