In Reply To: I completed an internship with ACN in London over the summer, and have been made an offer to start in the Edinburgh office in 2007. It's important to me that I be based close to home (which is in Glasgow), so this is ideal (my HR rep went to some trouble to secure such a start date for me, which was nice of her). I??m aware that 2007 is a long way off (particularly in ACN world), but I was wondering if anyone has any info on what the Edinburgh office is like, e.g.: - Number of employees - Primary clients (apart from RBS & HBoS) - Locations of clients/amount of travelling generally required - Is much work actually done from the office itself? - General 'busyness' of the office (in terms of number of projects on the go) - Will joining a smaller office potentially limit my career opportunities? I do appreciate that these are all very vague questions with no single answers, and that everything depends on the particular project, etc. But I'm just looking for general indicators on what the office is like. Also, any advice on what life is like in FS would be handy (I was on a Products/CRM project over the summer). Finally, if anyone works in the Edinburgh office, or has a colleague who does, it would be great if we could arrange to swap email addresses. Thank you muchly for you help.
Message: from you internship at ACN you should have realised that your hoem office doesn't matter as you will be expected to travel to the location of you profect. If you don't like traveling you will not like consulting. The only advantage of having you home office in Edinburgh is that you don't need to have a flat in London as if you got a project assigned there they would provide for houseing.
