In Reply To: I'm thinking about joining Accenture after graduation because I recently got the verbal offer, but not the salary yet. Can you tell me more about the abusive work and travel schedule you experienced? I was told that analysts don't travel outside of the city! Also, low 50s sounds great to me! Maybe I'm naive.
Message: It depends... WORK: Everybody work experience is different becuz it is on a project to project basis. For example, if you are working on a project at COMPANY X, then you are practically working for that company. Accenture is paying your salary and the client is paying accenture. So if the client sux, then your life may suck too. TRAVEL: Majority of new analysts get staffed near their home office. That is the direction of the firm. In fact, they hire you in mind of a particular project, based on need and demand. But that is not always the case. You could be traveling from east to west, north to south, etc etc. It is all luck of the draw. SALARY: Low 50's does sound good for a brand new person, straight out of college. Though low 50's is different for someone living in the midwest, as opposed to someone living in NY or San fran or Chicago or high priced cost of living. SO: So what does that all mean? Anything can happen at accenture. It is different for everyone. Just understand what your own personal tolerance level is and what you are willing to deal with at any work experience.
