I have a question. I was told by HR that they cut down the analyst program in their NYC office for the upcoming analyst class. I just wanted to know if you heard anything of that sort, and if you noticed that during your sell day. Thanks.

I am not sure about that. This was the first year since 9/11 that they did formal recruitment for the NYC office and I think as a result were doing it on a fairly small scale. First round on campus (Cornell) was about 35 students and they took 6 people to superday and made 5 offers, which is a very large percentage compared to other banks I interviewed with. I think I heard a number of like 25-30 for the analyst class. I'm not worried really. I think this message board is filled with people pissed off enough to write something. There is a lot of restructuring going on, but I was assured it wouldn't effect me at the analyst level- not just from random people trying to get me to sign but alumni and friends that work there.
Are you in the NYC analyst class?
