Assuming that you have the right background and understand why you want to do consulting,
1. Check out Vault's consulting ranking list. Big/major management consulting firms are McKinsey/BCG/Bain/Booz-Allen-Hamilton/Deloitte/ATKearney, and there are several small prestigious firms: Katzenbach/Monitor/Marakon/Mercer.
2. Read through the firm??s website and do research on the vault board to understand more about them. You can submit your resume through their internet site.
3. For the top firms, they only hire directly from top undergrad programs or from top MBA schools. You won't qualify as an experienced hire.
4. Consulting interviews have two parts. First is case interview and second part is behavioral/fit part. You??ll need a lot of hours to prepare/practice for them.
