Web Developer
Daily News seeks a Web Developer to design, code, implement, test, & administer existing & new web-based applications, incld'g intranet dvlpmnt & web/database solutions; migrate existing web projects to content management system; develop new web projects; assist in developing & maintaining an intranet portal site using Microsoft Sharepoint; integrate video, audio, & emerging technology into the end user; apply analytical site traffic data & respond to customers' patterns trends, & usability needs; & contribute to the creativity, design, development of the presentation & middleware layer components from Daily News online.
POSITION REQUIRES: A masters degree, or the equivalent (bachelors degree & 5 yrs exp, in computer science or related field & 2 yrs of exp in job offered or related occupation, to include exp w/web site production lifecycle; demonstrated mastery of Internet/Intranet architec ture & tools, search engines, portals, personalization strategies & content mngmnt; exp w/languages/Toolset: Java, HTML/DHTML/ CSS, XML, RSS, PHP, Perl; familiarity w/Windows (Server) running IIS & Linux (Redhat) run ning Apache; exp w/Interwoven suite of tools; specifically Teamsite; familiarity w/MySQL & similar relational data bases. DBA exp a plus. Working know ledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particu larly Adobe Go-Live & Version Cue. Newspaper &/or publishing, media exp is a plus.
