$55-58k SHIFT(THURS-SAT alt WED: 7pm-7am) Responsibilities: Provide technical support during network test exercises, actual disaster recoveries and in support of production services. This includes all levels of problem determination & resolution using various diagnostic monitoring tools & equipment, & service provider resources to successful completion. -Support Monitoring team on triaging alarms on both network & systems. -Provide Networking team with layer 1 & 2 support on Cisco routers. -Support of the Company's Global Network, which consist of Layer1, 2 & 3 network components. -Coordinate with network service providers to resolve outages & initial activation. -Provision network resources for internal/external customers to fulfill their communication needs via network management tools, & systems. -Escalate problems to the internal Network Engineering & external vendors as required. -Technical assistance to all internal/external customers during circuit outages. -Perform configuration changes in response to client issues. -Assemble & update documentation in the form of problem & change management tickets. -Maintain technical expertise & required industry certifications & stay current with new & emerging Layer1 technologies. -Have a base familiarity with client base & the network resources being utilized by all internal/external customers. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments. -Assist in implementing internal/external customer??s disaster recovery networks, with varying organizations within Company. -Make recommendations on Alarm auto-processing. -Verify validity of alarms and follow triage troubleshooting procedures as outlined. -Work with remote locations on verification & resolution of Alarms. -Assume the role of problem owner & notification for service requests. -Assemble & update documentation in the form of problem & change management tickets. -Have a familiarity with client base & the network resources being utilized by all internal/external customers. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments. -Working knowledge in activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting DWDM, SONET, T3, T1/Frac-T1 and frame relay/IP networks. -Strong network troubleshooting skills are required. -Working knowledge of SONET and DCS (T1, T3), CSU/DSUs, DWDM, TDM??s, fiber optics, router??s, and switches is desirable. -Working knowledge of network transition language (TL1) is required. Qualifications : -College degree or equivalent work related experience with a minimum of H.S Diploma or GED required; B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is highly desirable. -2-3 years experience in a Network control/management center or Central office environment. -Working knowledge in activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting DWDM, SONET, T3, T1/Frac-T1 and frame relay/IP networks. -Strong network troubleshooting skills are required. -Working knowledge of SONET and DCS (T1, T3), CSU/DSUs, DWDM, TDM??s, fiber optics, router??s, and switches is desirable. -Working knowledge of network transition language (TL1) is required. -Strong customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required. -Experience with a variety of switch & router hardware, carrier services, network services, network management, network termination equipment and associated diagnostic equipment. -Technical knowledge & experience with various network protocols are required. -Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts. -Knowledge & experience with PC LAN protocols and connectivity. -Ability to interact and influence change within the team that you??re working in. -Excellent communications skills (written and oral) are required. -Strong time management and organizational skill are required. -Shift work is required.
