Responsibilities:
-Dedication to providing excellent customer service.
-Act as Tier 2 escalation support to solve product and services problems in the data centers and on customer's hosts.
-Monitor daily health of the server environment.
-Develop and maintain departmental processes and documentation.
-Perform operating system installations, provisioning, troubleshooting and decommissioning.
-Utilize Remedy for Problem Management and Change and Task Management.
-Provide sales support as directed.
-Provide immediate escalation of critical client problems that may become serious service delivery issues or may be reported to executive management.
-Work with the Engineering group to help develop and test new technology and solutions.
- Participate in multiple projects and shifting workloads.
-Participate on projects providing technical expertise for the success of the project.
-Utilize the change review process and tools as required by each project task.
-Attend Design Review meetings to analyze prospective client system design.
-Provide post-implementation support.
- Provide education to others in the department and company.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after hours support.
- Train/mentor junior staff members as appropriate.
Qualifications:
-College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
- BS in Computer Science, equivalent Technical School training or equivalent work experience that includes appropriate training courses.
- 5-7 years experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems in a production environment.
- 3-5 years experience providing managed systems services to clients in a managed data center environment.
-MCSE or other relevant certifications.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
-Extensive problem-solving skills for debugging Windows, operating systems, application, and network issues.
-Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer, Managed Services Provider or web hosting business.
- Experience with Active Directory management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server.
- Experience with Windows clustering.
-VB scripting knowledge desirable.
- Experience with Opsware management platform.
- Experience with Concord SystemEDGE monitoring platform.
-Experience with SAN (disk).
- Experience with TSM backup software.
- Understanding of HP/UNIX, Solaris, Windows, Linux, and TCP/IP.
- Understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
- Understanding of midrange and storage technologies.
- Understanding of network technologies.
-Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate possible changes in business strategies.
-Excellent written and verbal skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Team player, can lead or follow as necessary.
-Ability to participate in off-hours and weekend support.
